In the 1930’s C.O. Stanley appointed B J Edwards (later known as B.J.) as an Electrical Engineer and Donald Jackson as a Mechanical Engineer to the company.

Edwards would become Technical Director and he convinced C.O. Stanley that Pye should design and build all the equipment necessary to Broadcast Television and give demonstrations using Pye TV receivers which would enhance their sales.
