Harold Pye

Harold was WG Pye’s son.

Born in 1901, he graduated from Cambridge University in 1923 and joined the family business.

He persuaded his father that Pye should go into the new ‘wireless business’ and manufacture radio receivers. He designed a number of the early radio sets.

When CO Stanley bought Pye’s radio business in 1928, Harold stayed with his father, becoming Managing Director when his father retired in 1936.

He stayed in that role until CO Stanley bought WG Pye Ltd in 1946.
