Pearl Stanley

Born in 1895, Pearl was CO Stanley's older sister.

In 1936, she became Managing Director of Pye's subsidiary, Invicta Radio (using the business name Miss Shaw).

In those days, it was very rare for a female to be in such a role.

During the war, she set up the 'Village Industries' scheme, employing thousands of workers to produce subassemblies in outlying villages.

After the war, she continued at Invicta which became Pye’s Wholesale Channel for TVs and radios.

She died in 1956.
