Richard King

Richard joined Pye as a Management Trainee, responding to CO Stanley’s advert that called for ‘people with fire in their belly’!

Entering the consumer product division as a TV and Radio salesman, he was promoted to Regional Manager and then Sales and Marketing Director.

He was made Managing Director of Pye TVT in 1972 with a brief to rationalise Philips activities in broadcasting equipment.

In 1981 he became Managing Director of Cambridge Electronic Industries, the independent company formed to manage many of Pye’s former smaller companies.
